Essential Oils and Sinusitis: Which Essential Oil to Choose?

You have a headache, your nose is blocked…the verdict is, you have sinusitis. How to get rid of it quickly? Essential oils will come flying to your rescue, get rid of them ASAP!

Why Use Essential Oils for Sinusitis?
The antiviral and antibacterial properties of essential oils provide invaluable help in fighting sinus infections that are often caused by viruses or bacteria. They also help restore respiratory comfort thanks to their expectorant and mucolytic properties. But that’s not all! Essential oils are also immunostimulating, which can strengthen your body and support it in fighting the root causes of disease.

As you know, there is more than one way to use essential oils to make your life naturally better!

3 Essential Oils to Fight Sinusitis
Radiant Eucalyptus, essential
Eucalyptus is native to Australia and is a koala tree. Its leaves provide a precious essential oil called radiant eucalyptus or radiant. Thanks to its 1.8 cineole molecule, radiant eucalyptus essential oil is expectorant and mucolytic, thinning and draining secretions from the respiratory tract. At the same time, it is antibacterial and antiviral, effectively fighting against the source of infection, allowing you to recover faster!

To use: Put 2 drops of pure water on a handkerchief. Breathe 4 to 5 times a day for up to 10 minutes each time, keeping about 10 cm away from the handkerchief.

Precautions: Not suitable for pregnant women under 3 months, children under 3 months, people with asthma or epilepsy.

peppermint, pain reliever
Not to be confused with peppermint or spearmint, peppermint essential oil is used for respiratory ailments and headaches. Due to its “cooling effect”, the presence of menthol can alleviate these ailments. Finally, its antibacterial, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties play a key role in ensuring your sinusitis is just a bad memory!

To use: Pour 2 drops of Peppermint essential oil into ½ teaspoon of vegetable oil (Avocado, Almond, Sweet Almond, etc.). Massage into temples (eyes!), forehead and base of neck up to twice a day until improvement. Wash hands after application.

Be careful not to apply peppermint oil too close to your eyes, which can become sensitive and watery. Prioritize the neck if necessary.

Precautions: skin test before use – do not apply directly to skin – not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children under 6 years, people with epilepsy or neurological disorders, people with hormonal imbalances, cancer addicts Or non-cancer patients lack G6PD enzyme, suitable for patients with cholelithiasis, gallbladder inflammation, severe liver disease, hypertension and severe cardiovascular disease.

Ravintsara, an immune booster
Ravintsara essential oil (not to be confused with ravintsare) originates from Madagascar. Indispensable in a first aid kit, ravintsara essential oil promotes the drainage of secretions from the airways while exerting an immune boosting effect. Thus, it improves your body’s ability to fight sinus infections quickly, thanks to the monoterpene alcohol molecules that make it up. The essential oil of ravintsara is also antiviral and antibacterial, which can eliminate sinusitis by fighting the root cause of the disease.

To use: Put 2 drops of pure water on a handkerchief. Breathe 4 to 5 times a day for up to 10 minutes each time, keeping about 10 cm away from the handkerchief.

Cautions: Not suitable for pregnant women under 3 months, children under 3 months, people with asthma or epilepsy – possible risk of drug interference.
