Do you have pets? Do you feel bad smell in your home? If you can’t stand the animal smell anymore, follow our advice to make it go away.
A smelly house isn’t deadly when you have an animal. All it takes is a little common sense and some natural tricks to get rid of bad odors.
ventilate your home
Whether you have animals or not, renewing the air in your home is a must every day, no matter the season. Not only does this prevent indoor pollution, but it also repels odors that are a bit too present.
Open your windows and leave it like this for at least 10 minutes, being careful not to leave your pet in this room where it tries to get close to it and falls over.
change trash
Cats, rabbits, hamsters and other rodents defecate in the cages or trays provided for this purpose. To avoid odors, be sure to change them regularly: every two days.
Some people put cat litter in the toilet: much more hygienic than in the kitchen.
Finally, if your dog or cat has a designated basket, remember to wash the mat he sleeps on regularly.
wash your pet
Of course, don’t wash rats, however, this rule holds true for your dog. Even if it doesn’t sweat (except under the mat), it can give off a nasty, lingering smell, especially in the rain.
To get rid of this wet dog smell, wipe it down with a well-absorbent towel and wash it regularly with a specific shampoo.
baking soda
Baking soda has been known to absorb bad odors: When you’re done cleaning your pet’s cage, you can pour some in the bottom, followed by clean shavings.
If your dog or cat urinates on the carpet, don’t panic: Pour baking soda over the stain. Wait until the next day to vacuum it up.
spirits vinegar
Another trick for getting rid of cat urine smell is to use alcohol vinegar. To remove it, soak a cloth in vinegar and wipe the area to be treated.
Warm Tips: Never use bleach to wash away the urine traces. Cats love the smell, yours may relapse
essential oil
Essential oils are especially effective for bad odors. Use a diffuser that cleans the room and provides a pleasant scent. You can use essential oils of lavender, lemongrass or conifers (pine, cedar…).
Be careful, some scents can upset your pet. This is the case, for example, with mint.
