5 Tips for Repairing Damaged Hands

The skin on the hands is especially thin and fragile. Cold, sunlight, repeated washing or exposure to detergents attack it and damage it every day. The result: dryness, brown spots, and brittle nails. Here are 5 essential steps to get great looking hands fast and take care of them for the long term…
Scrubs, masks, creams, anti-brown spots or anti-nail breakage solutions can effectively treat damaged hands. Did you know that your kitchen cupboards are full of ingredients to fix them? Sugar, honey, lemon and vegetable oil will be your best health allies!

exfoliating scrub
Before applying moisturizer, it’s important to prepare your hands for moisturizer. Exfoliate at least once a week to remove dead skin and allow the nourishing cream to absorb more effectively.

Here are two easy “homemade” scrub recipes:

Sugar and Lemon Juice to Fight Dark Spots

You can mix a teaspoon of sugar (5 grams) with a little lemon juice and apply to the skin in circular motions. In addition to having antiseptic properties, lemons are also rich in antioxidants that are effective in fighting skin aging. Say goodbye to unsightly brown spots!

Sugar and honey for extra rough hands.

Add two teaspoons of sugar to a tablespoon of honey and mix everything with egg yolks. Honey has healing properties that can heal cracks and soothe your skin.

Good moisturizing effect, prevents cracked and dry skin
Sudden changes in temperature and repeated washing can damage the skin. From the first tightness or crack, it’s time to perform a hydration ritual for your hands… To avoid the alligator effect, vegetable oils go a long way. Argan oil, coconut oil, avocado oil or sweet almond oil have many softening and nourishing properties. Be sure to choose pure, cold pressed from the organic culture and food or cosmetic sector. You can also use an oleocalcic liniment that deeply nourishes the skin.

Another natural remedy, raw shea butter is great for protecting hands from cold and sun damage. In the bath (melted in hot water) or massaged, it restores suppleness to the most damaged skin.

face masks for dry skin
When the skin is rough, it is recommended to apply a nourishing mask generously and leave it overnight. Moisturizers are released more effectively under the action of heat. If you want to make your own face mask, mix mashed potatoes with a tablespoon of olive oil. Be careful when putting on cotton gloves so you don’t stain the sheets!

Useful cream-soaked gloves, sold in perfumeries or drugstores, will pamper your hands while continuing with your activities. Leave on for at least 15 minutes. A clever response!

Prevent pigment spots
When you don’t take good care of your hands, they show a person’s age faster. A visible sign of skin aging, the gradual appearance of brown spots on the skin. To combat these unsightly effects, it’s essential to wear a full-face sunscreen with every sun exposure. It is recommended to regularly wipe the skin with lemon juice to repair the damage of hyperpigmentation. Vitamin C-based depigmentation treatments also help to remove dark spots. The most effective solution is to make an appointment with a dermatologist for laser treatment.

SOS Treatment for Soft and Brittle Nails
When hands are weak, nails are damaged, broken or split…Olive oil is a miracle ingredient that deeply nourishes and strengthens hands.

Quick recipe: Dip your fingertips in a bowl of olive oil for 5 minutes, then massage your nails into the oil. You can then use a stick to gently push back the softened cuticle.

For perfectly groomed hands, all you have to do is do a beautiful manicure!
