Vacations often rhyme with long distance travel, which isn’t easy for someone with motion sickness. Here are some natural remedies to prevent and relieve it.
ginger
Ginger is an excellent anti-nausea remedy. Consume fresh, infusion or capsule form at least one hour before departure, and every three hours if the journey is long. For children, it is available in the form of candy in pharmacies.
peppermint essential oil
Peppermint essential oil helps fight motion sickness. Pour 1 drop of peppermint essential oil over a teaspoon of honey or sugar. Note that children under the age of 7 and pregnant women are prohibited.
lemon
Due to its acidity, lemon relieves nausea by stimulating enzymes in the liver and pancreas. Sip on a wedge or drink a glass of lemonade before heading out. You can also sprinkle 1 drop of lemon essential oil on sugar.
Lemon Balm Water
Lemon balm water is an old-fashioned remedy that is still used today to treat motion sickness. Simply pour a few drops of sugar over a bar and chew for 1/2 hour before or during a trip.

An anti-nausea bracelet is a device found in pharmacies that stimulates specific acupuncture points. They are for people with motion sickness or pregnant women who are prone to nausea. To date, their effectiveness has not been proven. However, they are safe and can be used at any age.
bach flower
Bach flowers, especially Scleranthus, are natural remedies for motion sickness. Bone flower is the flower that restores the balance of mind and body. Dilute 4 drops with a glass of water 4 times daily while on the go or place directly under the tongue for occasional use.
Homeopathy
Some granules are suitable for motion sickness, these are Cocculus, Tabacum, Petroleum and Nux vomica. The therapeutic dose is 2 tablets or 1 dose every hour the day before, in the morning and during travel. It is advisable to contact a homeopathic doctor for the most suitable remedy.
green slime
Clay is absorbent, decongestant and anti-inflammatory. It is useful for nausea, vomiting and stomach ailments more generally. To use as a poultice: Pour 1 to 2 tablespoons of clay into a glass container (get a wooden spoon) and cover with a little hot spring water to get a thick paste. Place the paste on a muslin cloth and apply the clay directly to the skin at stomach level as you go.
fennel
Fennel is a vegetable with antispasmodic properties that can be used to prevent or combat motion sickness. It is eaten in seed form, or fresh by eating its bulbs and leaves, as all its parts are edible and effective at suppressing nausea.
Thyme also helps relieve travel-related ailments because it aids digestion. It prevents stomach gas and contraction while preventing nausea and vomiting.
