Supporting homeopathy for cancer patients

Homeopath Dr. Jean-Lionel Bagot 1 speaks at a seminar at Tenon Hospital on October 20, 2012, on the occasion of the 30th Congress of Alternative and Complementary Medicine. His presentation focused on the benefits of alternative medicine in supporting cancer patients, and more specifically the use of homeopathy to support cancer patients: “For several years now we are witnessing a change in the behavior of cancer patients who are increasingly choosing to ( 60% (according to the 2010 MAC-AERIO study) combined their usual treatment with complementary medicines. » Remember, in this regard, Dr. Bagot founded the first cancer supportive care consult in a hospital setting.

It is estimated that one in five patients 2 is the number of cancer patients who use homeopathy. Its use in oncology has doubled in the past four years. Worldwide, the number of users is estimated at 400 million. 56% of French people used homeopathy at least once in 20113. Today, many patients are “long-term survivors”: they want to be involved in their treatment choices. However, homeopathy is clearly not a cancer treatment, but a complementary medicine. It is effective in improving the general condition, reducing side effects of treatment and targeting symptoms for which there is no suitable allopathic medicine.

Homeopathy helps support and improve general condition. After homeopathic treatment, 97% of patients felt better and 93% felt less tired. Homeopathy is recommended starting with the shock of announcement and then at each stage until after treatment: management of emotional shock, anger, depression, confusion, crying, rebellion, sadness (58% of patients) and anxiety (57% of patients). In the case of surgery, homeopathy can promote healing and better support general anesthesia. During chemotherapy, it will intervene in the support of liver and kidney function, and it is recommended to also perform this treatment upstream of chemotherapy. Along with chemotherapy, homeopathy can effectively intervene in anticipatory or advanced nausea, loss of appetite, constipation, oral diseases (oral sores, catarrh, hypersalivation, dysgeusia), skin diseases (hand-foot syndrome, fissures, dryness, itching, hair follicles inflammation), peripheral neuropathy, thrombocytopenia, and spontaneous bruising. The side effects of radiation therapy can also be relieved with this medicine. In palliative care, homeopathy can support a patient’s physical and mental vitality. In addition to basic remedies, homeopathy can also prescribe heterogeneous remedies in oncology: homeopathy, based on the law of similarity, uses small doses of molecules that disturb the body to detoxify. The day after chemotherapy This removes the chemicals used in the treatment from your body. These specialties can be found in homeopathic pharmacies 4. Homeopathy can improve the patient’s quality of life, strengthen chemotherapy (full at the expected dose, less late sequelae, better treatment compliance, etc.)
