Combing your hair is one of the daily actions that should not be ignored. In fact, brushing not only restores shine and softness to hair, it also restores shine and softness to hair. It is essential for maintaining healthy hair by stimulating circulation in the scalp and removing brittle hair.
But between the shape, composition, nature or quality of the hair, we are often at a loss when it comes to choosing the best hairbrush! Here are some tips to help you find the right brush for you.
Choose a good quality brush
The beauty department is full of hairbrushes at prices to suit all wallets. But if we can be seduced by the initial price, it’s worth taking a closer look at the product. Poor quality brushes can seriously damage your hair, leaving it brittle or injuring your scalp.
Which bristles to choose for your hairbrush?
There are different types of bristles which will more or less adapt to your hair type. Bristles, made of the same keratin as our hair, are very popular because they especially respect the nature of the hair and give your hair shine by tightening the cuticles. You’ll also find brushes on shelves with nylon bristles, stiff bristles, or small plastic balls on the ends of the bristles to ensure easy grooming.
What kind of brush do you use to comb your hair?
To detangle wet hair, we prefer a comb to a brush, or, if your hair is very thick or curly, a large-toothed brush. There are also brushes designed for wet hair. But be careful not to use a comb instead of a brush afterwards, or you risk breaking your hair. For detangling dry hair, it is advisable to choose a brush with different bristle sizes so that the hair can be detangled smoothly. However, be aware of the risk of static electricity.
Choose the right brush for your hair type
Depending on the nature of the hair, the brushes will vary. For curly hair, we prefer a boar bristle brush, which is softer and won’t damage the hair while brushing it. For smooth hair, we’d go for a skeleton brush with widely spaced stitches, this will add volume to your hair and keep them from re-oiling too quickly. For thick hair that is less prone to tangles but often lacks discipline, a large square or rectangular paddle brush with boar bristles should be used. For fine, flat hair, a 100% boar bristle brush is the first choice.
Choose the right brush for your hair length
For long hair it is necessary to choose round brushes, preferably nylon bristles with a metal body. Don’t hesitate to buy the extra large model to save time on grooming. For short hair, choose a medium or even a small size.
Which brush which brush?
For a smooth brush, use a flat brush; for a soft brush, use a round brush, which adds volume. The size of the brush will be adjusted according to the length of your hair: use a large brush (at least 5 cm) for long hair and a small brush for short hair. A good brush will shorten the time you spend brushing your teeth. At the same time, hot brushes are very popular now, which can quickly straighten curly hair, even thick hair. However, be careful not to burn your hair! These brushes cannot be used on a daily basis.
