According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 40 percent of adult Americans are obese. No wonder so many people are struggling to lose weight. In fact, even if you’re not at the weight you want, it doesn’t necessarily mean you need to lose it.
you have a healthy lifestyle
Even though a healthy lifestyle is your top priority, you’re failing to lose weight. This is of course frustrating. Make sure you’re not following a suboptimal diet, such as one that requires cutting out certain food groups entirely.

When you’re at your ideal weight, you’ll feel fit and energized, and while that might seem like an imprecise metric, science backs it up.

If you’re healthy, relatively close to your goal weight, and have been seeing the same number on the scale for years, your body probably has it — even if you think there’s room for improvement. Your ideal weight should be a goal you can achieve and maintain without restricting yourself too much.
Consider your resting heart rate
While most people aim to maintain a healthy weight, some may consider wearing a size 4 or 6. This is a problem that goes far beyond appearances. This is your overall health, including your resting heart rate (the number of times your heart beats per minute while you’re resting).
